I support children and youth with the wide range of challenges they experience as they grow. These include emotional difficulties (e.g. anger, anxiety, mood), behavioural challenges (e.g. impulse control, compliance, attention, executive functioning, toileting), social skills, bullying, friendships and relationships, self confidence and learning difficulties.
An important part of supporting a young person is knowing how to best capture a child's strengths and weaknesses via formal assessments. I therefore conduct comprehensive assessments to identify: Cognitive strengths and weaknesses (cognitive assessment), Specific Learning Disorders (i.e. reading, writing and/or maths), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Standard therapy fees are charged at $205 for the initial session (60 minutes) and $195 for subsequent sessions (60 minutes)
Private Health: Many funds provide a rebate for psychological therapy and we can process payments and refunds at reception. To check the eligibility of your cover, contact your fund and quote Item Number: 100_60 (Initial appointment) and 200_60 (ongoing therapy). In this circumstance we will process your health fund first and you will only pay the out of pocket fee.
Medicare: When deemed suitable by your GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist, a Mental Health Treatment Plan can be put in place. This entitles you to an initial 10 sessions (which need to be reviewed by your GP after the first 6 sessions), with the potential for an additional 10. You will receive a rebate each session of $93.35. Please note in this circumstance you will need to pay the full fee up front, before the rebate can be processed back.
NDIS: Fees are charged at $214 (60 minutes). This is slightly higher than the standard fee due to the additional time required administratively outside of sessions.
Assessment costs are tailored based on the referral question(s). Therefore it is important to first attend an initial consultation ($205) to discuss the individual young person. Following this session, a tailored quote will be provided. Costs capture the testing time, materials used, scoring, interpretation and a comprehensive report outlining results, day-to-day implications, relevant diagnoses and recommendations, and a feedback session to go through all results. A general estimate of an assessment is approximately $1500 from beginning to end, but may be more or less depending on what we are assessing for.
Private Health: Occasionally funds may provide a rebate for psychological assessments. You can check your cover quoting Item Number: 100_10
Medicare: Assessments are not covered by a Mental Health Care Plan
NDIS: Assessments can be covered under an NDIS plan provided there are allocated funds permitting this.
